Happy birthday

It was my birthday on Saturday so we got dressed up and went out for lunch with my family and some close friends! Had a blast! Jarrod bought me an amazing Minnie  Mouse necklace to celebrate our upcoming Disney trip. After lunch, he surprised me with an overnight stay at the casino at the Gold Coast. I had a wonderful weekend away!

Wisdom teeth

I'm finally home! Man am I in pain!
I had a really bad reaction to the anesthesia so I had to stay longer than expected at the hospital but it feels good to be home.
Doing me teeth hurts and I have twenty stitches on both sides. I'm awfully thankful it was just the two bottom ones this time although, the top ones were so much easier and way less painful.
Looks like I'll be spending some time at home recovery and reading

Motorfest

On Sunday, my folks came up to Brisbane so we could all hang out and celebrate my mum's birthday. We ended up going to the Eagle Farm markets and it just so happened that they were hosting the RACQ Motorfest that day! They had amazing old cars, hotted up cars and classic American cars. There were carnival rides, photo booths, face painting and even a petting zoo!

After we had seen everything at the markets and the motorfest we went on over to the Eat Street Markets to wander around and have some lunch. And I scored these beautiful daffodils from a stall owner for free! My apartment smells wonderful now because of them

Daffodils

It was a really fun day - although awfully cold because of the antarctic vortex that is currently making its way around Australia. I won't be able to see my family for another two weeks due to my surgery next week! But when I do see them next it will be for my birthday celebrations!!

QUEENSLANDER!

Like promised here is a photo of us dressed up for the Origin game on Wednesday. What a great game, super happy we won! We were surprisingly not very busy but I think because it was a home game a lot of people were there (plus it is dry July which is keeping people away).

I've just finished reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green. I wasn't overly thrilled by the book - I much preferred An Abundance of Kathrine's and Paper Towns (I am looking forward to seeing how the movie turns out).

Oh, and I also went and saw Jurassic World finally!!!! It was a fantastic movie! I loved every minute of it. Even if it was a tad predictable in points - I am now very excited to go on the Jurassic ride at Universal.
And on that note, there are only 108 days until we leave (ALMOST AT DOUBLE DIGITS!)

Long week

Just a quick update today.
My boss is on leave this week, leaving me in charge so I am doing a 50 hour week (with no days off) and am already exhausted. I don't know how she does this every week!
The worst part is that tonight is the final game of State of Origin and with both teams tied and it being a home game, we are expecting a lot of customers!

We plan to dress up to celebrate the game so I'll post a few snaps tomorrow.

Also, Jarrod has come down with a cold so I am busy looking after him and trying to do everything around the house. I feel like I need more arms

Busy bee

I've been so damn busy with work lately that I haven't had a chance to catch up on here or with my friends and family.
I am going in to have an operation on my mouth (they need to extract my two lower wisdom teeth) so I've been working flat chat to make up the money to pay for it! But I have today and tomorrow off! I have so much planned.

Today I went for a 8km walk to go change my library books - oh how I long for a car!

I think tomorrow I will stay home and relax and play video games.

June

My parents in law (Jarrod's mum and dad) get back from America tomorrow! I can't believe they've already been gone for a month. June has flown on by. I hope they got me something good :D

So to celebrate we are having Jarrod's great Aunt and Uncle over tonight to thank them for house sitting for us. I'm making chicken enchiladas and a self saucing butterscotch pudding - two of Jarrod's favourite foods!

Then tomorrow morning we will head up to the airport bright and early to pick them up and come back and have brunch with them at the cafe across the road to catch up on how their trip was.

With just under a month until my birthday I better start thinking of party ideas! And what type of cake I want. I've also started on Pottermore again, if you are on it as well let me know and add me. My username is: ChestnutRook9066

Until next time friends xx
