Florida Mall

Yesterday was the big room swap, I now have a new room which has a bath! And the bed is much nicer. 

Today I went to Florida Mall (apparently shopping center isn't the correct term over here!), the mall is so big it comes with a hotel.

M&M World is incredible. It smells so amazing. There are at least 2 or so dozen different colours and flavours to chose from!

 After I checked out the mall, I went to Downtown Disney (AGAIN) to see if I could find any cool presents for people, but there really wasn't anything I liked enough

 Last night I had some American friends over so I cooked them a meal - butternut squash, coconut milk rice with chickpeas, Italian chicken sausages and stir fried vegetables! Was my first time cooking butternut squash so I was a little worried but it turned out amazing. 
I can't believe I have been in America for 3 weeks - time sure does fly when you are having fun

Pub Grub

Had my first night out in Orlando with some amazing friends. We went to the Raglan Road pub at Downtown Disney. 

Dinner - slow braised lamb shanks with rigatoni . It felt weird not having a salad!

We were all feeling quite homesick so one of the flatmates made mini meat pies to make up for us not being able to celebrate Australia Day

House of Blues has the most adorable Blues Brothers merchandise (I may need to get some stuff for my mum!) and I tried my first Rice Krispie. It was way too sweet and sugary for my liking. I keep learning all these words that Americans use and Australians don't so it has been a lot of fun.

I absolutely love working at MuppetVision. I have met some incredible people and made some great friends. Two of our Sweetums are the greatest people!

Early Mornings

Today was the Social Security appointment which meant I had to be on a bus at 6 am. After a 10 hour shift yesterday and very little sleep. Waking up this morning was incredibly hard and now I am off t work a 7 hour shift running on empty. 

I will get use to these early hours and little sleep I am sure of it! 

On the bright side, it's Thursday which means PAY DAY!!! I still need to wait another week till I have enough money to buy my concert tickets for Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens but it will be so worth it.

It is kinda strange to think I won't be in Australia for Australia Day :( I'm going to miss celebrating and enjoying Australian food.

1st Visit

Today I went to Hollywood Studios as a non cast member. It was awesome seeing it from a different perspective.

I met nearly all of the characters and went on the Backlot Tour, the Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Midway Mania and I did Star Tours twice. I went and saw the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt show which was really really good.

I also ate at Primetime Cafe for lunch and met nearly all of the characters.

I never knew how exhausting it can be just wandering around all day but man am I buggered!

I also went and tried Earl of Sandwich that everyone keeps banging on about and it was amazing! Well not so much the smoothie 

I ended up trying the Hawaiian Club (without the Swiss Cheese), it was amazing but slightly too much sauce!

End of Week 1

Finally a day off to rest. I managed to get all of my washing done. 

Yesterday I passed all of my testing and officially became a MUPPET! Was so relieved that I passed.

Tonight is our big welcome event. I am actually looking forward to trying to make friends.

This place is kinda sucky for now.

On With The Show

Today I went to Hollywood Studios to complete my 'On With The Show' lesson were we once again learnt about the 4 keys to Disney as well as getting a tour of the park. Afterwards I had to complete some tests on a computer - instead of getting my costume :( 
I also found out what Attraction I'll be on first! MUPPETS 3D!

Tomorrow I have my first training day and I get my costume!

Then I am working until Thursday so I figured I would spend my days off exploring the parks and Downtown Disney. 

I also attended Traditions where we were given our badges by the boss himself, Mikey Mouse.

I also did the my first grocery shop at Walmart! It took over 2 hours, that place is a nightmare

Day 2

So today was Orientation Day 2, which meant Recruitment welcoming! Basically we find out our job and what park as well as getting our bank card.

I had my roles swapped or something as these next 6 months I'm going to be working Icon Attractions which means I can be placed in any of the following rides/locations: Great Movie Ride, American Idol attraction, Muppets 3D, Indiana Jones Stunt Show or Jedi Training Academy and Star Tours. So I can't say I am too bummed about being moved!. 

I think this afternoon we are all off to the Florida Mall so we can get phones and then off to Walmart for some food.

Vista!

Yesterday I arrived in America (after such a screw around, guys I am warning you now, do not ever ever ever fly with Student Flights!)

I'm in a two bedroom apartment at Vista Way and the best part is my kick ass roomies!











After some much needed rest, we all went over to The Commons for an abundance of paperwork (and a massive lunch)

4 more sleeps

My family is making the trip from the Gold Coast to Brisbane today to spend one last day with me before I go. 

I don't know whether to be excited or upset. I am a bundle of mixed emotions right now. 

I can't believe it is only 4 more sleeps! 

A week left!

There is now only a week left till I fly out of Australia and I still have so much left to do!

I need to finish packing my checked luggage and get onto packing my carry on. Plus I need to figure out how to get to Vista Way once I am at Orlando Airport.

I also need to make sure all my electronics are charged so that I have something fun to do on the plane.

I had a great Christmas :) I managed to score a heap of awesome things for my trip!
